Mobile site speed test

Google PageSpeed Insights loads your page on a simulated phone over a mobile network and scores how fast it shows up and answers a tap. Type any page’s address to run it.

Test your site

Your ads and your Google listing both send people to your website. See how Google scores yours and ours on a phone. How does your site score on a phone?

Google’s PageSpeed test scores how fast a page loads on a phone, from 0 to 100.

We send the address you type to Google PageSpeed Insights to run the test, and we don’t keep it.

We build fast-loading websites, on desktop and mobile.

We’ll build you a site like this one: $4,997 for a business or $2,997 for a nonprofit, and you pay once.

Google sorts the score into three bands.

  • 90 to 100 Good
  • 50 to 89 Needs improvement
  • 0 to 49 Poor

Google builds the score from five timings on one test load. The biggest pieces are how long the page stays too busy to answer a tap, how soon its largest image or block of text appears, and how much the layout jumps while it loads.

Start with the page your ads open.

  1. Your ad clicks land on one page. Test that page first, because a paid click that waits on a slow page can leave before it loads.
  2. Google’s full report names the slow parts. Open it after a test, and it lists what held the page back, like large images or scripts that load before the page can draw.
  3. Each fix needs a fresh test. Send the report to whoever runs your site, and run the test again after each change they make.

Questions

Will a faster site rank higher on Google?

Not by itself. Google says it shows the most relevant page even when that page loads slowly, and a good speed report doesn’t guarantee a top spot. Work on speed for the visitors who’ve already clicked.

Why did my score change when I ran it again?

Google says the score moves with the conditions under each test, like the network, the testing machine and other work running at the same moment. Run it two or three times and go by the middle score.

Why is my phone score lower than my desktop score?

Google runs the phone test on a simulated phone over a mobile network, and the desktop test over a wired connection. The same page gets less power and a slower connection on the phone test, and that shows in the score.

Does the test check my whole site?

No. It tests the one address you type. Your home page and your service pages can score differently, so test each page people land on.

We build the ads. You see every call and decide if it’s worth it.
