What we do in your Microsoft Ads account

Microsoft Advertising runs the ads on Bing and its partner sites, and it works a lot like Google Ads. So we run it in the same order: tracking first, then budget, then waste, then bidding, then the ads.

Microsoft renamed Bing Ads to Microsoft Advertising in 2019, so both names point to the same ad account. Your ads still show on Bing, and on partner sites like Yahoo and DuckDuckGo.

We're a small team in Conway, Arkansas, and we've run Google Ads since May 2016. We work with businesses across the US by phone and video, and our Google Ads management page shows how we run the Google side of the same budget.

  • Tracking: before the first dollar, we add Microsoft's UET tag to your site through your Tag Manager and set your form sends and call taps as conversion goals, so Microsoft learns from leads and not clicks.
  • Budget: Microsoft draws from the same budget as your Google ads, so each dollar goes where your calls and forms cost least.
  • Campaigns: we start from the searches and ads that already bring you work on Google, then check every setting on the Microsoft side.
  • Waste: we read your search terms every week and block the ones that will never become work, with negative keywords.
  • Bidding: once Microsoft has real calls and forms to learn from, we let it bid toward them.
  • Results: we judge Microsoft by the calls and forms it brings in and what each one cost, in the same report as Google.

How much of search Bing holds

Bing holds nearly twice the share of searches on computers that it holds across every device. Microsoft's ads can also show on Yahoo and DuckDuckGo.

  • 18.8%Bing's share of US desktop searchSeptember 2026
  • 9.89%Bing's share of US search on every deviceSeptember 2026
  • 4.11%Yahoo's share of US desktop searchMicrosoft's ads can show there too
  • 1.94%DuckDuckGo's share of US desktop searchMicrosoft's ads can show there too
Statcounter Global Stats, US search engine market share, September 2026, read October 21, 2026.

Where your Microsoft ads show

Microsoft can show your search ads on Bing, Yahoo, AOL, DuckDuckGo, Ecosia and other partner sites. It can also place your ads inside Copilot, its AI assistant, built from the ads you already run.

Microsoft says it opts every eligible campaign in to Copilot on its own, and an advertiser can't opt out. It builds those ads from the text and images already in your campaigns. Your negative keywords apply in Copilot the same way they apply on Bing, which is one more reason we keep that list current. Microsoft doesn't report Copilot results on their own yet.

Microsoft also runs audience ads on MSN, Microsoft Start, Microsoft Edge and Outlook.com. Those ads reach people while they read, not while they search for a service. If we test them for you, we give them a small budget and one number that decides it. We also write down a stop rule before the first dollar.

One tool sets Microsoft apart. Microsoft says it's the only ad platform besides LinkedIn itself that targets people by their LinkedIn profile: their company, their industry or their job function. It raises or lowers your bid for those people instead of hiding the ad from everyone else. That helps a business that sells to other businesses, like a commercial contractor.

Tracking goes in before the first dollar

Microsoft says its UET tag is a must for conversion tracking, remarketing and automated bidding. Without it, Microsoft has no calls or forms to learn from.

The UET tag records what people do on your site and sends it to Microsoft. We add it through your Tag Manager, beside your Google tag, and we set your form sends and call taps as conversion goals before an ad runs.

Microsoft also adds its own click ID to each ad click, called the MSCLKID, and it's on by default. Microsoft says that without it, a lead goes uncounted when a browser's settings block Microsoft's cookie. So we keep it on.

Microsoft can import offline conversions too, the same way Google does. A business sends the click ID, the goal name and the time a lead turned into booked work, within 90 days of the click. Microsoft suggests sending them every day, because late uploads can hurt its automated bidding.

Microsoft can copy your Google campaigns with its import tool, but the import changes some things on the way over. If your Microsoft account has no conversion goal yet, an imported Performance Max campaign switches to bidding for clicks. A bid strategy Microsoft doesn't support comes over as Enhanced CPC, and a scheduled import can copy Google's bids, bid strategies and budgets over the changes you made in Microsoft. Microsoft itself suggests editing or pausing those schedules. So tracking goes in first, and we check every campaign before it spends.

What it costs

Microsoft Ads runs inside Growth, which starts at $1,750 every 4 weeks, plus a $3,997 build paid once, or $0 on the 13-cycle plan. Your own cards pay the platforms.

We don't sell Microsoft on its own. On Growth you set one ad budget. We spread it across Google, Local Services, Microsoft, Facebook and Instagram, and each dollar goes where your calls and forms cost least. When the numbers change, we move the money for you, and money moves between platforms with no new build fee.

Your fee follows your total budget across every platform, and on a budget of $5,000 a month or less, it's $1,750 every 4 weeks. On the call, Miguel reads your fee for your budget straight from our price table. We recommend Growth for a business ready to spend $3,000 or more a month on ads.

We bill every 4 weeks, so a year is 13 bills. Cycle to cycle: you pay the build and keep the 30-Day Stop. You can cancel at the end of any bill. The 13-cycle plan: the build is $0 today, and you sign up for 13 cycles, one every 4 weeks. There's no 30-Day Stop. If you stop before your 13th cycle, the build you skipped goes on your last bill.

Stop anytime in your first 30 days, and the fee never starts. Your fee starts on day 31, unless you tell us to stop by the end of day 30. Growth comes with your own advocate, plus reports and your portal, and every price we charge is on our pricing page.

A second search engine should earn its share, so we start Microsoft small and let the numbers decide. Two test experts wrote in Harvard Business Review that only about 10% to 20% of the tests run at Google and Bing came out ahead. So we write a stop rule before the first dollar, and empty weeks tell us something. On the paid ad accounts we run, only 4% of full weeks of ads brought no conversion at all, so ads that work rarely go a whole week with nothing.

Nonprofits can add it too. Growth for a nonprofit puts Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Instagram on one budget beside your Grant, plus your Grant fee. Our Google Ad Grants page explains the Grant side.

Is Microsoft worth adding yet?

Each yes is a step that helps a second search engine pay off, and the questions run in the order we'd fix them.

  1. Do your Google ads already bring in calls and forms at a cost you like?

  2. Can you name where each of your last five new customers came from?

  3. Do many of your buyers search from a computer at work, like office managers or other businesses?

  4. Could your team take on more work next month without something slipping?

  5. Can you spend $3,000 or more a month on ads across every platform?

You're ready for a second search engine. Microsoft can join your Google ads on one budget, and a call with Miguel will show what Growth costs at your budget.

You're close, so fix your first No before you add a channel. Each step makes the next one pay, and then Microsoft has something solid to build on.

Start with Google, because it holds most of the searches in the US. Our Google Ads management plans also start smaller than Growth.

Questions

How much does Bing ads management cost?

Ours runs Microsoft Ads inside Growth, from $1,750 every 4 weeks, plus a $3,997 build paid once, or $0 on the 13-cycle plan. Your fee follows your ad budget across every platform, and your own cards pay the platforms.

Is Bing Ads the same as Microsoft Advertising?

Yes. Microsoft renamed Bing Ads to Microsoft Advertising in 2019. Your ads still show on Bing, plus Yahoo, AOL, DuckDuckGo, Ecosia and other partner sites.

Can you run only our Microsoft ads?

No, we don't sell Microsoft on its own. Growth is one budget, not one platform. We put each dollar where your calls and forms cost least across Google, Local Services, Microsoft, Facebook and Instagram, so Microsoft gets the share its results earn.

Can Microsoft copy our Google Ads campaigns?

Yes, Microsoft has an import tool for Google Ads, but it changes some settings on the way over. An imported Performance Max campaign bids for clicks when your Microsoft account has no conversion goal. A scheduled import can also copy Google's bids and budgets over your Microsoft changes. So tracking goes in first, and we check every campaign before it spends.

Do Microsoft ads show in Copilot?

They can. Microsoft says it opts every eligible campaign in and builds the Copilot ads from your existing text and images. Your negative keywords apply there too. Microsoft doesn't report Copilot results on their own yet.

Who owns the Microsoft Ads account?

Your own cards pay the platforms. The account and its data are yours either way.
