What goes on the first screen

Most visits to our clients' sites come from a phone, and the average visit ends about halfway down the page. So we put your number, the jobs you do and the towns you serve on the first screen, where a thumb can reach them without hunting.

On our clients' sites outside online stores, 68% of visits came from a phone, and the average visit stopped 48% of the way down. A homeowner with water on the floor doesn't read your history first, because they need three answers fast: do you fix leaks, do you come to their town, and how do they reach you? So the first screen answers all three before anything else, and the rest of the page backs them up.

Your phone number works as a button that dials in one tap, because people tap far more often than they type. On our clients' Google ads, 95% of calls came from a tap on a call button, not a number typed by hand. On trade pages we also keep a call bar along the lower edge of the screen, so the button stays in reach while people scroll.

Proof goes up high as well, because a stranger is deciding whether to let you into the house. Your reviews, your years in business or your license number sit well before the halfway point, next to real photos of your crew and your finished work.

Each main job you want more of gets its own page, written for the person who searches for it. We don't cap the count, so a plumber can have one page for water heaters, one for drains and one for sewer lines.

We custom code every page so it loads fast on desktop and mobile, and speed matters most on a phone. Google's research found a phone visitor is 32% more likely to leave when a page takes three seconds to load instead of one.

What visits to our clients' sites show

On our clients' sites outside online stores, most visits came from a phone, and the average visit ended about halfway down. So we lay out every contractor page around the phone.

  • 68%of visits came from a phoneSo we design for the phone first.
  • 48%of the way down the page, where the average visit stoppedSo the number and the proof sit up top.
  • 46%of form leads came at night or on a weekend150 forms to 6 client accounts, Sep 7 to Oct 11, 2026.
  • 9%of visits had a dead tapA tap on something that did nothing.
Emprise Digital client sites, 2026. The visit numbers leave out online stores.

Every call and form gets counted

We track every call and form from day one, so you see what the site brings in. Each form emails the inbox you name the moment someone sends it.

We set up Google Analytics, track every tap on your phone number and count every form sent. Our system saves each form before any email goes out, so a mail problem can't erase a lead, and each form runs a spam check before it reaches you.

You can name more than one inbox, like the office address plus the owner's email, so someone still sees a lead when one person is out on a job.

Leads don't wait for office hours. Across 6 of our clients, 46% of website form leads came in at night or on a weekend. Those leads sit in the inbox overnight, so pick one that somebody opens first thing every morning.

Speed matters once the lead is there. A Harvard Business Review study found companies answering a new web lead within an hour were nearly 7 times as likely to reach the decision maker as companies answering an hour later. Our speed to lead guide has a callback routine any shop can run.

Test your current site on your phone

Run this on your own phone, over cell data, the way a customer would, and tick each line your site passes today.

0 of 8 done

On our clients' sites, 9% of visits had a tap on something that did nothing. Ten minutes of tapping finds those spots before a customer does, and most of these lines come from the launch checks our system runs on the pages we build.

How your build works

Your site moves through a set path, and nothing goes live until you approve it in your portal.

  1. Questionnaire

You tell us about your shop

The questionnaire asks what you offer, who you serve, where you work and how you like to sound. Your answers become the plan for every page and the voice of every line.

  2. Research

    We study your market

Our system looks at the sites you compete with and at your current site, if you have one. It also prepares the photos and files each page will use.

  3. Build

    We write it as code

We build each site as code, which keeps pages light and quick to load. The layout comes first, then the look, then the words, then the details search engines read.

  4. Checks

    Every page has to pass

Our system grades how each page looks and reads, twice, and runs Google's speed test as a phone. It also checks for broken links and runs an access check for visitors who use a screen reader, and we fix any page that falls short and check it again.

  5. Review

    You click through it

Your new pages show up in your portal with a link to a preview copy, so you can tap through it like a customer would. You approve each page or write what should change.

  6. Launch

    We take it live

If you're replacing a site, we point every old page address to a page on the new one, and we don't launch until we've covered each one. Then your web address moves to the new site, and we test the live site again.

What it costs, and what stays yours

A contractor site costs $4,997, and you pay once. Hosting is $50 every 4 weeks, unless you're on one of our plans.

Hosting keeps your site running, backed up and safe, and it covers small updates you ask for, like new photos, a text change or posting a blog you wrote.

The site is yours, and that covers the pages, the words, the photos and the domain. Your domain stays with the company you bought it from, under your own account. Going live changes two rows in its settings, and the rows that run your email stay as they are.

There's no do-it-yourself editor, so you send changes from your portal's Requests page, and a person on our team replies in the same thread. If you ever leave, we hand over the full site files, so any developer or host can run the site.

SEO is $750 every 4 weeks, and only on a site we built. At signing, you get a written list of the fixes and pages we'll do. We promise the work, but we never promise a ranking.

If you want Google ads as well, Open Spots Search runs one Google Search campaign for the jobs and towns you pick. Our home services page shows how we run ads for trades, and every price we charge is on our pricing page.

Questions

How much does a contractor website cost?

Ours is $4,997 for a business, and you pay once. Hosting is $50 every 4 weeks, unless you're on one of our plans, and it covers small updates like new photos or a text change.

Do you use a template or a site builder?

No, we code each site ourselves, so it loads fast on desktop and mobile and it's yours.

Who owns my contractor website?

You do, because the site, its words, its photos and your domain all belong to your business. If you ever leave, we hand over the full site files so any developer or host can run it.

Will switching websites hurt my Google ranking?

We don't promise a ranking, but we guard the links you already have. We point every address on your old site to a page on the new one, and we don't launch until we've covered every old address.

Can I update my website myself?

There's no do-it-yourself editor, so you send a change from your portal's Requests page, and a person on our team replies in the same thread. Hosting covers small updates like new photos or a text change.

Do you build websites for contractors outside Arkansas?

Yes, we're a small team in Conway, Arkansas, and we work with businesses across the US by phone and video.
