AI visibility checker

AI visibility checker for local businessesDo AI tools name your business?

Type what you do and your town to get the questions a customer would ask. Paste each one into ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot, then score what the answers said about you.

It’s 30 minutes with Miguel, and he names one plan and one price. You can also see our prices first.

Start a new chat for each question, so an earlier question doesn't steer the answer. Ask each one two or three times, because the answer can change from one chat to the next.

Paste each question into each tool

  1. What's the best plumber in Conway AR?
  2. Can you recommend a plumber near Conway AR?
  3. Which plumber in Conway AR has the best reviews?
  4. I just moved to Conway AR. Which plumber should I try first?
  5. What are three good choices for a plumber in Conway AR, and why?

It got your town, services, phone and hours right.
It listed your website as a source.
It cited a review site, a listing or a video that mentions you.

Most answers name you and get your facts right. Keep your facts the same on every listing, add a page when customers ask something new, and check again next month.

Some answers name you and some don't. Work through the fixes below from the top, and ask the same questions again next month.

No ticks yet. If the answers named other places, start with the first fix below, then ask the same questions again next month.

What to fix

  • Not named: give the question customers ask you most its own page, and answer it in the first two or three sentences. Steps 1 to 4 of our GEO playbook show how.
  • A fact wrong: correct it on your site first, then make your Google listing and every other listing match it word for word. Our post shows how to write facts an AI can repeat.
  • Your site not cited: open yoursite.com/robots.txt and make sure it doesn't block OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot or Googlebot. Our post names each AI crawler and what it does.
  • No review site or video: ask every customer for a review, and make one short video for each question people ask. More than a quarter of the Google AI answers we track for clients cite a YouTube video, and more than a quarter cite a listing or review site.

We don't ask any AI tool for you, and nothing you type or tick leaves your device. The answers change from day to day, so your score shows the day you checked.

How AI tools pick the businesses they name

Each tool builds its answer from pages it can find and read, so it can only name a business those pages mention. Generative engine optimization is the work of getting those pages to say the right things about you.

ChatGPT search and Perplexity send their own crawlers to read the web. OpenAI says a site that blocks its search crawler won't show in ChatGPT search answers, and Perplexity says to let its crawler in if you want to show up there. In our June 2026 test, ChatGPT and Perplexity cited a small site's new pages, while Google's AI answers and Gemini hadn't cited them yet.

Google's AI answers draw on pages that can already show in Google Search, so in our experience they move at the slower pace of regular SEO. When two sites disagree about your hours or your towns, a tool has to pick one version, and it may pick the wrong one.

Check Google's AI answers too

Search the same questions on Google, and read the sources listed under the AI Overview when one shows up.

Google showed an AI Overview on 36% of the searches we track for our clients. Our daily checks found one on 80% of the searches worded as a question, against 34% of other searches, so paste the same questions into Google word for word.

Keep a record each month

Each month, write down the date, the tool and the question, and list every business each answer named.

  • Use the same questions in the same words each month, so a change in the answers comes from the tools and not from your wording.
  • Open the sites the tools keep naming and compare each fact on them with yours.
  • Check your analytics each month for visits from chatgpt.com and perplexity.ai, because those visitors clicked through from an answer.

Questions

What is an AI visibility checker?

It checks whether AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot name your business when someone asks about what you do. This one writes the questions and a short scoring list, and you ask the tools yourself.

Does this tool ask ChatGPT for me?

No. It writes the questions, and you paste them into each tool. We never see what you type or tick, because it stays on your device.

Why does ChatGPT give a different answer each time?

AI tools write each answer fresh, so the wording and the businesses they name can change from one chat to the next. Ask each question two or three times, and go with what most of the answers say.

Can you get my business named by ChatGPT?

Nobody can promise that, and we don't. We can make the facts about you clear on your site and the same on your listings, which gives AI tools something solid to repeat.
